3 week old - gassy chokes sometimes on one breast

my 3 week old only has some of these symptoms and I don't want to correct for a non existent problem only to create a problem.

He is most hungry at night, has diaper rash, chokes sometimes at beginning of feed, on one side eats in short bursts, is difficult to burp and is gassy. He is not constantly hungry nor does he have green stools.

How can I tell if my foremilk/hindmilk is imbalanced?

symptoms of Foremilk/hindmilk problems

Choking at the beginning of a feed is just a sign that you have a good let down of milk. If it seems unbearable for him, you can allow the milk to spray into a towel during a let down.

Also most babies are difficult to burp and are gassy.

The major indicator of a F/H imbalance is the green, frothy explosive stools and colic symptoms. Does your baby seem happy most of the time? If, so, don't worry...your baby is doing just fine.

I hope this puts your mind at ease.
