bring your periods back while breastfeeding
by: Tracy

There is unfortunately no medication that you can take to bring your periods back while breastfeeding. There are many women who are struggling with this same problem.

Does this mean you have to stop breastfeeding to fall pregnant? NO

It is possible to fall pregnant while breastfeeding, so what can a breastfeeding mom do to increase chances of falling pregnant while breastfeeding?

Once your baby starts eating solids and breastfeeds less, the chances are better that you will start your period again.

Some moms get there periods a few times before starting to actually ovulate, so even if your period has started it might take a while before you become fertile again. During this time you can start taking ovulation tests?which are especially important while trying to conceive if you are breastfeeding. Other moms become fertile before their period even starts. These are the moms that sometimes fall pregnant by accident.

If you are becoming a little desperate to fall pregnant, you can: (remember that these methods will reduce your breast milk supply)

- Replace a few feedings with pumping. A breast pump does not remove milk as well as a baby?this will lower the milk producing hormones and might be enough to start your fertility cycle.

- Stop breastfeeding at night, if at all possible.

- Have longer periods of time between feedings.

Most important, you will have to have patience and have fun... having regular intercourse will also increase your odds of catching that first ovulation! Hope this helps
