breastfeeding issues during pregnancy

I just found out I'm pregnant and am still breastfeeding my 7 month old baby. She's starting to throw up after feeding.

I've heard about the taste change due to increased hormones, but does this mean it's best to wean her to formula and is this normal?

baby spitting up after breastfeeding
by: Natasha

Shame man, that doesn't sound like fun.

It could be a temporary change in the taste of the milk, due to hormone changes.

It's been a few days, since you left that comment, is this still happening? What did you decide to do?

Breastfeeding but Pregnant two months after first baby

by Anonymous

Do not rely on breast feeding as an exclusive means of contraception. Period! I was one of those "rare occurrances." There are 12 months and13 days age difference between my two oldest daughters.

I never had a period between them. We went to the health dept. for wic. They asked if I had any questions so I asked when my period would return. Wham bam boom. Pregnant again!

That is when I found out that you are most fertile right after having a baby. Now my third daughter is 6 months old. Still no period. Like the first 2 she is exclusively breast fed.

Supply issues while pregnant
by: Anonymous

Hi,
I am in the very early stages of pregnancy (5-6 wks) and already noticing issues with breastfeeding my 5 1/2 month old. I feel like their are some supply issues. He is also cranky, fussy, and distracted at the breast. I DESPERATLY want to continue nursing my son until he is at least a year old.
I've read several different posts in this issue. I know every mother, baby, and situation is different. Has anyone had these issues and successfully continued to nurse through a pregnancy?
Thanks in advance for your help and support! It is much needed!

Pregnant while weaning previous Child

Hi,

I was unsuccessfully trying to get pregnant for about four months and was still partially breast feeding my 2nd child. I begun weaning her and fell pregnant for the third time. However, I am already two months pregnant and I don't feel that i am developing Lactiferous ducts.

For my first two pregnancy I felt them developing during the first trimester. I am still squirting out drops of milk but I fear that because I weaned my girl and fell pregnant at the same time I wont be able to fully lactate for my third child.

Is there anyone who knows if I will be able to still develop enough mammary lactiferous ducts for my third child in the next 7 months? Or do I have to take some form of measures to ensure it does?

THANK YOU

breast growth during pregnancy
by: Tracy

Hi

Do you know that you do not need to wean your child while pregnant...you can breastfeed right through your pregnancy.

Read more on this here.

Every pregnancy is different and there is no way to know if and when your breasts will develop, but with the hormones released they should...you might not feel it though.

I struggled to breastfeed my first baby, with the second pregnancy I also didn't see much of a change in breast size or see any leaking, but did notice a big increase in breast milk supply.

Getting pregnant while breastfeeding a toddler

My daughter is 14 months old, and we are interested in getting pregnant again. She nurses at each nap, throughout the night, and sometimes once between each nap. I stopped birth control, and I've been having periods, thick, strechy mucous, and nasty period cramps. I'm not ready to wean her yet, and I know she isn't ready either. Is there any way I can boost fertility?
