Ha ha! This is a great question!

My little girl is now turning 1 on the 20th and I'm still struggling with this. Sometimes I get it right, other times it doesn't go as well.

I'm guessing your little one wakes up when you try to leave, do you at least get it right to unlatch?

Sometimes the best thing to do is to just take the extra needed rest and sleep!

Hard time getting up
by: Kristen

She wakes both when getting up and unlatching unless I lay there for awhile till she's out cold. Husband is craving time with me and need to be there for him so any ideas I can get is much appreciated :)

taught my son to fall asleep without me
by: Elsabe

When I taught my son to fall asleep without me, I gradually got him used to the idea by taking off the shirt I wore that day and putting it over or next to him. That way he could still smell me and that seemed to comfort him.

You could also try using a boppy pillow (or any other pillow if you don't have one) to put behind her back. Do it while breastfeeding and then gently move away when she's asleep. She'll still feel that comforting pressure and have your smell from your shirt.

It takes practice and time, but if you keep doing it every night you'll find it gets better and better. It worked for me, hope it does for you. Good luck!

(PS And Hubby surely won't mind you coming out of the room topless hehe! ;o) So it's win-win for all. )
