Herbal capsule called Lactare.

by Reshma Dewase

Hi, my baby girl is 3 months old now and I feed her a combination of breastmilk and formula.

The first month was very frustrating with my baby crying endlessly because she was always hungry. And we never understood why she cried so much.

My mom would force me to feed her formula and I would refuse, saying that my baby would only have my milk. She would tell me over and over to take herbal tablets to help my body produce more milk, but again, I wanted my body to produce milk naturally.

My baby ended up not gaining enough weight at all. When I realized that I decided she wouldn't suffer anymore and started feeding her formula and taking tablets as well.

At the end of 3 months, I am proud to see my baby blossoming into a beautiful angel. I have no regrets.

If this is what it takes for my baby to grow, then so be it. I am able to breastfeed her about two or three times a day; I treasure those moments. I am from India and take a herbal capsule called Lactare.

It is purely herbal and very safe with no side effects. I know many other women who use it and swear by it. I do because it saved me and my baby.

I hope it is available in other countries or online. I would love it if other women out there get to experience the joys of breastfeeding.

Hi Aman
Not that I know of. But you can check with your doctor if you wish. My friend's aunt is a Gynaec and recommended her to take it and she in turn, to me. I dont recall getting any side effects. I would trust my life with it. However if u think u need to check, i recommend checking with your doctor.

Hope his helps!

Same situation as yours
by: Bhargavi

Hi Reshma,

I had the same situation as yours. Currently my baby is 2 months. Me too started formula n lactare as suggested by my baby's doc... After a total nightmare of breast feeding with cracked nipples, bleeding on nipples n law supply etc

Initially I lost most of the baby weight within 15 days of delivery but after that somehow I gained more than my pregnancy weight.. I doubt it may bcoz of lactare.. Plz suggest if u too gained any unusual weight?

Response to all questions

Hi

OK. To answer everyone's questions.

I'm not aware of any side effects of this tablet. As I mentioned above this was recommended by a friend whose aunt is a gynaecologist who also recommended the same. However for any doubts please check with your doctor as they are the best people to consult for medicines.

I doubt if this tablet causes any weight gain because I definitely did not put on any after having it. You may want to check for any other factors for the weight gain.

The dosage is 3 times a day.

Hope everyone are doing fine and healthy. Happy breastfeeding!
