Turmeric and breastfeeding
by: Tracy, CBC, CLD (CBI)

Turmeric is "generally recognized as safe", but there is lack of data in connection with it's safety while breastfeeding, even though it is famous for it's use while breastfeeding.

Mothers usually take half a tsp of turmeric per day to help increase milk supply as well as prevent breast infections.

I would suggest that you take a small amount and look out for any unusual symptoms in baby, if there are none...increase the amount, but try to keep the dose to not more than half a tsp per day.

Hope this helps
