I wish I had read this before

Hi there,

I'm a new mom of a 7 month old. I had a very hard to breast feeding...bloody/sore nipples at the beginning. So I pumped for the first 2-3 weeks (I would try to breast-feed every week and my nipples would get very bloody and sore again). So the lactation clinic at my doctor's suggested, I pump for about a week and try to breast feed again.

My supply started off great (50-65 ml per breast) but by Month 2 it went all the way down to 5-10ml per breast, if that. Of course, I had to rely on formula to feed my baby. I tried a number of home remedies that my mom told me about to no avail. I also drank Mother's Milk tea. Nothing worked so I gave up by Month 3.

My son is now 7 months old and I still think back to those days when I tried to breastfeed him. It still weighs heavily on me, although my son is very healthy and happy, I would have loved to have breast-fed him until at least 6 or 7 months, but would have tried for a full year! I wish I had come across your website before. I will ingrain fenugreek in my mind for future reference or to recommend to any mom I know who is struggling.

Question: is it too late to try fenugreek now (at 7 months) to start produding milk again? What is the latest a mom can try to produce/increase milk supply?

For my second baby, I'll be sure to use all your advice. Thank you!
