drinking kombucha while nursing
by: Tracy

If you make your own home brew, yes it is safe, but you need to take care that your brew is not overly acidic. When nursing, its best to use ph test strips to make sure that your brew is a ph of between 2.5 and 3.

Kombucha is used as a detox and therefore you need to make sure that you are well hydrated when drinking it, so that the toxins are not released in your breast milk. Drink at least 8 glasses of clean water daily.

Kombucha increases energy levels and is often used for its laxative effects. Keep an eye on your baby, if he/he has runnier stools or has a sudden unwelcome increase in energy, you might want to stop drinking it.

It has so many benefits and I have heard that many mothers drink it without any ill effects. Also, it is said to prevent their babies from getting catching colds. The Probiotics (found in Kombucha) are amazing at counteracting auto-immune diseases and allergies.

Hope this helps
