Please take your baby to emergency, black in stools is a sign on blood.

Poops

I have found that my babies stool is dark green, almost black after getting RED tylenol! If that is the case try to use dye-free.

A bit more information?

If you recently switched baby from breastmilk to formula, a change in the consistency and colour of his poo is to be expected. This change also occurs with the introduction of solid foods. Any colour from yellow to green to brown is usually considered in the "normal" range.

Blood in poo could be because he was straining to get his poo out. If he seems in pain when he poos, he could be constipated. As he is six months already, I would suggest an oz of prune juice diluted with 1-2 oz of water that should help.

If he does not seem constipated, Or is still constipated after a week, I would take him in to the doctor, and blood in his poo is not a good thing.
