You can fall pregnant before your period returns while breastfeeding.
The signs of pregnancy while breastfeeding may vary from woman to woman.
Early Signs of Pregnancy while Breastfeeding
Remember that a missed period or spotting while breastfeeding, is not necessarily a sign of pregnancy, as there is no "normal" menstrual cycle while breastfeeding.
- Nausea and vomiting.
Extra sensitive nipples. (which are not due to latch issues, thrush or other breastfeeding problems) The breasts also might feel more swollen than usual.
- A drop in breast milk production.
- Frequent urination.
- Food cravings.
- Upset stomach and/or flatulence.
- Headaches and dizziness.
- Mood swings.
- A strong sense of smell.
Breastfeeding on its own does not make for a 100% safe method of contraception.

Pregnancy tests are still just as accurate while breastfeeding.
